Parker Inflection Fountain Pen

The Parker Inflection fountain pen is a more recent release that started its run in 2001 and was in production until the company discontinued it in 2004. It was first released around the time when a few changes were going on with the company. The Inflection, though is certainly recognisable as a part of the Parker family and is quite reminiscent of the shape and size of the 95.

The Inflection is quite a stylish looking pen and it was on this basis that the company marketed the pen. It has a gold-plated stainless steel nib and it is a cartridge/converter filler. The metallic body makes it slightly weighty in the hand and it is a smooth writer feeling quite well balanced. Those who have had some experience with other Parker pens will find the size to be quite similar to the 51 although it is slightly thinner and a little lighter too.

The Parker Inflection was only given a brief run and it was available in a bright range of colors that were displayed nicely thanks to the metallic lacquer finish. It is possible to find the pen in black, sunny red, radiant yellow, tranquil blue as well as the ubiquitous Flighter finish.

According to some who have used the pen for any length of time, the weakness with this particular model is the tendency for the barrel to become scratched too easily. This occurs around the cap section as it is screwed and unscrewed and the problem worsens with extended use.
